    The quality of the wood material is somewhat poor; even in new condition there were places where the veneer was chipped. Assembly was not easy and took a fairly long time. The unit, once assembled, was sturdier than it seemed to be during assembly. The best thing about the unit is the price. The goal was to buy an expensive TV but an affordable stand and that was accomplished.
