The back assembly is difficult, trying to get warped panels in straight grooves and hold one side in while getting the opposing panel in place to aget a flush backing was difficult. The front trim, while looking nice hides one dvd on the end of each and every shelf (fortunately I had empty DVD boxes to put in there and provide a buffer.

Looks very good and does the job. Shelves are thin but if you follow their instructions on assembly they will hold up to twice as many CDs as you can fit thanks to clever locking system and support in the middle.

I am a huge collector of paperback books which makes it hard to buy bookcases because the depth is too much for paperbacks. I decided to try media units instead. Although the storage capacity on this is the highest you can find, THE OTHER REVIEWS ARE HIGHLY ACCURATE! Shelves are flimsy and unstable. I highly suggest one of the leslie dame shelves which are much nicer and sturdier.

Read the review by meehhhhhhh from Melbourne, Fl. He has this unit pegged perfect. I purchased this CD holder because of the large capacity. Here is the bottom line: 2 good points 1. Looks good once assembled 2. Does indeed hold allot of CDs 4 bad points 1. Poor design: Shelves are very thin and flimsy. I have the feeling that one of these nights I'm going to be in bed and suddenly hear this loud crashing sound as the the whole unit collapses. 2. The method they used to hold the shelves in place is insane. 6 little plastic thing a ma jiggers. They don't give me any confidence that they will hold the shelf up once CDs are loaded on it. And some of them are hard to insert into the holes. 3. Overall the unit was somewhat difficult to assemble and left me frustrated, but I attribute allot of that to the fact I was taught Latin in High School instead of something practical. 4. As was stated in the review I mentioned above - the small side panels that come down the front of the unit are a nuisance. They cover up the front part of the shelf and make it hard to pull stuff out from the front edge. Well that's about it. To buy or not to buy is the big question. It looks nice once assembled and does hold allot of CDs, but overall because of the shaky design on the shelving, I would say go with the smaller 1500 CD units that are sold on this site. I have 2 of them and they are excellent.

I agree totally. The manufacturer should send out replacement shelves and in the future include a more sturdy shelf with this item. Overall the product looks extremely great but with the "bows" in the shelving it really cheapens the look of the unit.

Instructions were easy to follow. Items were well packaged,however three pieces were cracked. Replacements were shipped promtly. Should work very well for it's intended use.

i bought these shelves because it is the ONLY shelving unit that has this high of a capacity. It does indeed hold a lot of DVDs, but hopefully thats all you want to do, store them. The shelves are very thin and cheap and feel they are about to break with the slightest amount of weight. There are 6 pegs to hold up the shelves, 2 on either side, and 2 in the back middle, unfortunately most of them are uneven so you really only get support from maybe 3 of the side ones. You don' even get to use the back support as they shelves lean forward from the weight of the DVDs, besides, even with the slightest move of a DVD the back pegs fall out. There are 4 supports going up the front, they work fine, but they overlap the sides of the shelves and essentially block in the side DVDs on each shelf, not a huge deal, but i found it annoying, especially since that means extra moving of DVDs, which makes things feel as they are about to break. bottom line is go for QUALITY not QUANTITY.

All of the pieces were included in a very securely packed container. The cabinate material is a high density partical board which looks professional and nicely finished. The only issue with this product is the the shelves pieces are so thin that they cannot support a full shelf of VHS or DVD without significant bowing. I've had to double up on the left over shelving to partically address the issue.
