I bought one years ago. It has worked very well year in and year out. Still looks good. Now with an overflowing DVD collection and also needing a place to keep many of my son's books, I decided to get a second one. I was not disappointed. While not super easy to assemble, it is easy enough and took under two hours end-to-end.

First off,I love my 1260 spinner rack but i do think its grossly overpriced for the amount of wood used in it and i was only able to fit 1068 dvd's in cases you can purchase in the rack not 1260 as advertised.The instructions were only semi adequate and I put in the shelves upside down due to lack of explicit instructions.On the plus side it is a solidly built storage device and I love the spinning feature so i can quickly locate my hugh dvd collection,plus it is reasonable compact.Even though I think the price is a rip off i would probably buy another if my collection continues to grow

This item arrived in two boxes. I suggest opening both, reviewing the instructions and making sure you have all the parts. Mine actually had a couple extra pieces (a good thing in case you lose one). It's extremely sturdy and solid. I've read reviews that suggest having another person when you assemble it. It's not a bad idea but it can be done with one person. And like another reviewer suggested, make sure you know how you want this configured (all CD, part CD/part DVD, etc) because that will determine how many shelves you assemble and their placement in the carousel. Once they're in and together, you'll need to disassemble it to make adjustments. Overall, I'm very happy with it. I purchased this one exclusively for CD's. I'm just about out of room for my DVD's so I may purchase another just for those.

Delivery was extremely prompt. I ordered it on a Tuesday and it was delivered by FedEx on a Saturday (go figure). The item is packed securely and padded. Even after being transported and handled by the driver into my house (there were two holes in the box....I'm guessing they were placed there by the carrier so they can lift it) there was no damage at all.

This is a very good quality item. It does assemble quite easily, but seems to require an extra pair of hands for one of the steps (but I'm 77 years old so maybe it's just me!). Also, the directions have you load all of the shelves on to the base and later move them up inside the unit. I found that because I was using the unit for a combination of cd's, dvd's and vhs's I had to dismantle the unit and remove two of the shelves. So I would suggest that if you are using it for a combination you do your math and figure out shelf placement before completing the assembly. To sum up I would say: Great quality, easy assembly, free (and timely) shipping and no tax! What more could one ask for!?

For once.. it really WAS simple to assemble.. do not let assembling prevent you from buying this.. with my wife we put it together totally in 20 minutes.. it's really clever how it assembles-- item is nice and heavy.. i strongly recommend buying the hardwood type like this rather than the particle board ones for less
